The Denver Broncos may be getting their third bye week of the season as they prepare for Super Bowl 50, but this one is not like the others. There’s a reason why there’s an extra week of preparation prior to the big game, and it’s because there is a lot to do.
And preparing for the actual game is only a part of it.
There’s media day, there’s photoshoots, there’s family obligations and a whole lot more. The Super Bowl isn’t just a game; it’s the largest event in American culture, and there’s a lot that goes into it.
One of the smaller, yet more entertaining, facets of the Super Bowl preparation comes in the filming of the Super Bowl promos — the little videos we see coming in and out of breaks, where the players dance around the ever-so-elusive Lombardi Trophy. Those clips may be just a few seconds long, but it allows everybody to see the excitement on the Broncos players’ faces as they come within feet of that trophy for, in most cases, the first time.
Hands down, defensive coordinator Wade Phillips was the star of the show with his Von Miller impersonation:
