A farewell poem for Brock Osweiler

Denver Broncos

A season to remember

If you bleed orange and blue

The champagne is still fizzing

It’s too good to be true

But after Week 10

The season was on the brink

Losing at home to the Chiefs

Title hopes began to sink

The Sheriff had struggled

Through a season of doubt

And against Kansas city

His foot forced him out

Late in the game

The Broncos barely breathing

Brock stepped onto the field

To try and stop the bleeding

He stature imposing

A lanky 6’7”

And with arms held high

He reaches right up to heaven

His Promise unlimited,

He had patiently waited

Hoping his talents

Would be vindicated

For more than three years

He held Peyton’s clipboard

But now was his turn

To brandish the sword

His performance at arrowhead?

Too little too late.

And bronco fans pondered,

“Can we still be great?”

But next week was different

A team effort through and through

Brock managed the game well

Beating Chicago by two

And then came that Sunday

On a cold snowy night;

Against hated New England,

Brock Osweiler took flight

Late in the fourth quarter

The game on the line

Brock looked to the corner

And let loose a dime

He found Andre Caldwell

In the back of the zone

And manning on the sideline

Let out a silent groan

An overtime scamper

By C.J. Anderson

Sent the Patriots packing

And gave Denver seed number one

Come Week 17

His record stood 4-2

But his first half against the chargers

Had Kubiak going blue

As brock left the field

Peyton loosened his arm

And in the legends final season

He became the team’s lucky charm

Brock watched from the bench

As the title run unfurled

And when free agency came

To Denver his back twirled

Elway tried to persuade him

But he turned his eyes south

“To Houston, I shall go

Were JJ Watt runs his mouth”

The terms of the deal?

To put lightly, it’s audacious

Four years, $72 million.

Quite frankly, its outrageous.

Most fans thought he’d stay

Until Schefter tweeted

And clearly Brock felt

That he had been cheated

Defense wins championship

The pundits like to say

But we need a QB

Because Brock left today

They say RGIII

Could be coming to Denver

But does the brass really want

Another injury bender?

Perhaps if the Coach Gary

Had started Brock in the postseason

He would’ve stay put

To leave; he’d have no reason

But next season Mr. Osweiler

Will sport blue and red

And cash a fat paycheck

For to Texas, Brock has fled
