After winning six games in a row, the Denver Nuggets have truly solidified themselves at the top of the Western Conference.

Sitting at the third seed in the West, the Nuggets aren’t going to catch the Oklahoma City Thunder, but they’re close to catching the Memphis Grizzlies in the second spot. Finding ways to consistently win against sub .500 teams has helped Denver bolster their record. Does that make the Nuggets can elite team? It’s unclear.

Whether Denver’s elite or not, they’re currently playing much better basketball than they were just two weeks ago. It would be more confirmation of Denver’s status if they showed up against better teams more consistently. They will have plenty of opportunities for that after the All-Star break.

On the latest episode of Pickaxe and Roll, Ryan Blackburn discusses the Denver Nuggets playing consistent basketball over the last few games, taking care of business and never truly being in trouble. Can they keep their six-game winning streak through the All-Star break?

Ryan breaks down whether the Nuggets are an elite team, how long this winning streak can last, and then previews Nuggets vs Portland Trail Blazers tonight (and Wednesday).
