Despite having a historic rookie season in 2024, the national media continues to disrespect Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix. Why does Nix deserve to be talked about more as 2025 approaches?

Denver Broncos QB Bo Nix continues to be disrespected by national media after historic rookie season

Bo Nix deserves to be talked about more by the national media in a way that puts some respect on what he did in 2024. While Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels was deserving of winning the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year award, Nix was very much equally deserving based on his number and production.

Nix finished 1st amongst rookies in passing touchdowns (29), total touchdowns (34), completions (376), and passing yards (3775). He also had the most games (7) with 200+ passing yards, 2+ touchdowns and zero interceptions by a rookie in NFL history. Nix had five games with 3+ passing touchdowns, which represented the second most by a rookie in NFL history, and 19 passing touchdowns at home, which were the most by any rookie in NFL history.

On top of that, Nix surpassed Baker Mayfield for the second most passing touchdowns by a rookie in NFL history and was two passing touchdowns shy of tying Justin Herbert’s rookie record. So why isn’t anybody talking about Bo Nix more?

ICYMI: Broncos tab Darren Rizzi as next special teams coordinator

Over the weekend, The 33rd Team put out a tweet that blatantly disregarded the historic season Nix had and left him off when he was very much in the same category as Jayden Daniels.

In a now-deleted tweet, The 33rd Team said, “Every rookie QB with 4,000+ total yards, 30+ total touchdowns, and 10 wins in NFL history. Jayden Daniels. End of list.”

Thankfully, screenshots live forever, and Broncos Country got the tweet Community Noted with facts.

Nix and Daniels achieved the same thing, except Nix was left off of the list by an aggregate site that blatantly ranked him in the bottom of the NFL at QB for a majority of the season in their rankings to generate clicks through rage bait.

What Nix did in his rookie season was historic, considering the Broncos didn’t have an effective run game or a security blanket tight end option for him to throw to. You can also argue that Nix did more with less established or premium talent around him than Daniels had.

What Payton was able to do with Nix and the Denver Broncos’ offense last season is worth talking about more than it currently is by national folks, and there is even more room to grow for that unit in 2025. Nobody is taking a shot at Daniels, who proved he’s an elite young quarterback, but for everybody to ignore what Nix did is asinine and irresponsible.
