With the regular season looming the Denver Broncos had to cut their roster down to 53 players this afternoon. The biggest question today revolved around the status of Montee Ball. The 3rd year running back from Wisconsin has plummeted down the depth chart and it’s been reported that the Broncos are trying to trade him. It looks as though Ball will make the team (barring a trade), with the departure of Kapri Bibbs.
Kapri Bibbs released. I'm sure Broncos would practice squad him if not snatched up. This assures Montee Ball makes the team, for now.

The biggest surprise of the day came when inside linebacker Steven Johnson was cut.
With the injury status of Danny Trevathen and Brandon Marshall still up in the air, one would wonder why John Elway would thin out inside linebacker. This might be the sign first clear sign the Trevathen and Marshall are 100% healthy and ready to go.
Fan favorite Ben Garland was also released.
Ben Garland released. He does have another year or practice squad eligibility left. So far, Steve Johnson biggest surprise cut.
