The NFL offseason is underway. General managers are making room for the start of free agency, while scouting incoming rookies simultaneously. Jason Cole of Bleacher Report, joined Eric Goodman and Les Shapiro during Afternoon Drive on Mile High Sports Radio, to discuss potential moves by the Denver Broncos general manager John Elway.
“I think [Elway] is going to spend in free agency, I think he is going to spend a lot,” said Cole. “He is an aggressive guy… He has never been afraid to go get players: Aqib Talib, the safety [T.J. Ward] and DeMarcus Ware.”
Though he has not yet been released, Tony Romo is drawing perhaps the most attention this offseason. The uncertainty for the Broncos at quarterback position might just tempt Elway to go out and get him.
“I think everybody is rolling the idea around in their head to see if it can fit,” said Cole. “I would say its like a lot of things when you are talking about John Elway, is the price the right price?”
With two young quarterbacks in Siemian and Lynch, Cole questions if the Broncos will try to develop them, or if Elway and company will have a win-now mentality, and buy into the Romo stock.
“I’ll say this, John Elway wants to win, and he wants to win [badly],” said Cole.
