The Denver Broncos and Oakland Raiders renewed their divisional rivalry on Sunday and offensive production was tough to come by early in Denver.
Denver didn’t have a three-and-out in their Week 1 game against the Seattle Seahawks, but that streak quickly died after Denver went three-and-out in all three of their drives in the first quarter.
The Broncos offense manufactured 23 total yards in the first quarter and went 0-3 on third down.
23 total yards for the #Broncos in the opening quarter.
0-3 on third down.
Pretty conservative play calling. #Broncos down 3-0 to #Oakland after 1 quarter.— Ron (@RonnieKRadio) September 16, 2018

Being on the field for a majority of the quarter, Denver’s defense began to wear. The Raiders drove into the Broncos red zone for the second time of the game to start the second quarter trailing 3-0, however Von Miller’s sack of Derek Carr forced Oakland to settle for a field goal.
Von Miller ties Leonard Little for 48th on the NFL's all-time sack list. Sacks Derek Carr. 4th of the year. #Broncos

A couple plays later, Case Keenum targeting Jake Butt threw an interception at the goal line to Rashaan Melvin, ending the drive.
The Raiders milked the clock and returned down the field, scoring a 1-yard touchdown run from Marshawn Lynch. Linebacker Shaq Barrett did block the extra-point, which kept the score 12-0 going into the half.
