The Denver Broncos missed wide receiver Jerry Jeudy during Wednesday’s practice, but he did return on a limited basis on Thursday as he continues battling through a groin injury. His status appears to be up in the air for Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans.

Jerry Jeudy limited in Thursday’s practice

If the Broncos are without Jerry Jeudy this Sunday against the Houston Texans, they’ll look to other options to step up in his absence if that is, in fact the case.

During Thursday’s practice, Jeudy was spotted during the team’s stretching period but left to the side field after the team stretch was done. He made a brief appearance during individual period as the Broncos neared the start of their team period.

Jeudy did not have his helmet with him. On Wednesday, Broncos head coach Sean Payton indicated that he expected Jeudy back at practice on Thursday, but his limited status is worth monitoring.

If he’s unable to go on Sunday, the Broncos could look to Brandon Johnson, who was designated to return from injured reserve on Wednesday. Johnson looked fresh and crisp during Thursday’s practice with his route running.

Coming off of a hamstring injury, Johnson has missed the last five weeks, has had ample time to reacclimate himself in the meeting room, and hasn’t missed a beat since returning to the practice field.

Another player on the Broncos’ offensive side of the ball who did not participate on Thursday was tight end Chris Manhertz. During the team’s media viewing portion of practice, Manhertz was spotted without a helmet and did not participate in any individual or team drills.

According to the team’s injury report, it was a rest day for Manhertz.

Following Thursday’s practice, the Broncos released their official practice report for the afternoon.

Limited Participants:

Did Not Participate:

Manhertz and Purcell were given veteran rest days. Mathis pulled up in practice with a back injury designation and was spotted with a trainer during the team’s individual period.

Mims was spotted in team stretch and individual period and appears to be progressing nicely. Friday’s practice participation for all of these players will be something to follow.

Tight end Greg Dulcich continues to work on the team’s side field as he aims to work his way back from a hamstring injury that landed him on injured reserve for the second time this season. Last month, Payton indicated that he believes Dulcich will play again at some point this season.

We’ll monitor his progress as the season continues.
