Denver Broncos safety T.J. Ward was suspended Thursday by the NFL under some very fishy circumstances.
A 16 month old incident in which the charges were dropped apparently can lead to a one game suspension at anytime. Ward won’t play in Week 1.
But a little more digging and critical thinking led me to believe Ward was simply suspended because Roger Goodell was mad about the Tom Brady decision. The commish wanted to flex his muscles and Ward was the victim.
Ward might be thinking the same thing.
He met with the media after Thursday night’s fourth preseason game and made a very interesting statement.
Spoke to TJ Ward about his suspension. "I guess not everybody can be Tom Brady".

Boom! Well said, Mr. Ward.
This league (specifically Goodell) has no rhyme or reason behind its thought process. The whole ‘New Sheriff in Town’ thing has been a colossal failure.
Ward isn’t Tom Brady, sure, but he may be suspended in a round about way because of him.
