Veldheer comes to Denver potentially as the starter at right-tackle, but as Mike Klis of 9News reports, Veldheer will be the starter at right tackle. Veldheer was drafted in the third-round in the 2010 NFL Draft by the Oakland Raiders and signed by the Cardinals in 2014, starting 53 games for Arizona.
The 6-8, 329lb tackle has started 101 of his 106 career games. Veldheer started 13 games in 2017 at multiple positions before he finished the 2017 season on injured reserve with a broken ankle, something he is rehabbing from.
Veldheer in college was a standout lineman at Hillsdale College in Division II and in 2009, Veldheer was named first-team All-American and first-team All-Region by the American Football Coaches Association.
Veldheer (6-8, 321 pounds) is a ninth-year player who has started 101-of-106 regular-season games played and three postseason contests with Arizona (2014-17) and Oakland (2010-13). He was selected by the Raiders in the third round (69th overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft from Hillsdale College (Michigan).
A 16-game starter at left tackle in four of his eight NFL seasons, Veldheer contributed to an Cardinals offense that tied for third in the league in sacks allowed (93) during the past two years.
