It was a wild night last night in the Mile High City.
Aaron Gordon was forced out of the game early with a calf injury, and with Jamal Murray already sidelined, the Nuggets were left to figure out how to win with Nikola Jokic, Michael Porter Jr., Russell Westbrook, and a bunch of young players.
There were bumps along the way, but the Nuggets got the win at the buzzer against the Toronto Raptors, in no small part because of Denver’s young guys. Christian Braun was steady. Julian Strawther bounced back from a slow start, and Peyton Watson hit the biggest shot of the game. It was a great moment, and the Nuggets needed to see those players do well to start the development process in earnest.
On the latest episode of Pickaxe and Roll, Ryan Blackburn goes over the Denver Nuggets big clutch win over the Toronto Raptors. With Jamal Murray out and Aaron Gordon exiting early, the Nuggets were forced to rely on Christian Braun, Julian Strawther, and Peyton Watson in the clutch. Those three made big plays and helped with Denver the game. Ryan discusses them, Russell Westbrook, Nikola Jokic, and a watershed moment in his mind about the youth.
