The Colorado Buffaloes continued to add to their embarrassment of riches in the defensive backfield this week by adding commitments from 2023 defensive backs Nahmier Robinson and Isreal Solomon.
The transfer portal has helped overhaul the talent on Colorado’s roster with a lot of win-now pieces, but improving the talent of the freshman class will also be tremendously important for Coach Prime, as it will install a foundation of talent that will aid future winning.
Isreal Solomon didn’t receive an official star rating from 247Sports, but did have a strong reputation as a high school prospect that starred at the notorious IMG Academy in Florida.
Nahmier Robinson joins the team as a three-star that already has some ties to the Mile High City, as his dad — 11-year NBA vet, three-time NBA Slam Dunk Champion Nate Robinson — spent three seasons in Denver playing for the Nuggets.
Robinson has carried over his dad’s all-world athleticism into his own game, and as a nickel corner, the size issues should be less of an issue than his NBA father.
Landing Robinson is also huge for the Buffs as Robinson had received offers from -in-state rivals Colorado State, and Pac-12 rival Washington. The fact he chose a likely walk-on opportunity with the Colorado Buffaloes over the clearer paths owned by the Rams and the Huskies is yet another testament to Coach Prime’s recruiting prowess.
