To say that the Colorado Buffaloes have surprised a few people would be a massive understatement; they’ve stunned the world.
After winning four games all of last year, the Buffs currently sit at 10-2, have won the Pac-12 South and are on their way to California to face off against Washington in the Pac-12 Championship Game.
If they win one more game, whether that be the championship game or a bowl game, they’ll have matched their win total from the last four years combined.
That’s some massive improvement.
And a good deal of the credit has to go to defensive coordinator Jim Leavitt, who has helped turn this defense into one of the best units in the entire nation. Understandably, he has been named a finalist for the Broyles Award.
Congrats to 2016 #BroylesAward Finalists.

Even with the success of programs like Alabama, Clemson and Michigan, Leavitt’s work at Colorado will be hard to overlook.
The winner will be announced December 6.
