The Dallas Police Department has released the offense record from the Aqib Talib shooting case; it contains details that put Talib at V Live nightclub located at 1311 Empire Central Drive in Dallas and that the incident was dispatched at 2:45 a.m. on Sunday, June 5, 2016 as a shooting.
Talib had reportedly told police that he was shot at 3:40 a.m. in a nearby park.
Talib is listed as the complainant in the incident, which cites the offense as aggravated assault with an MO stating, “UNKNOWN SUSP SHOT COMPS CAUSING INJURY.”
A separate incident report listed Glen Lumpkin, 20, and Vernon White, 29, as complainants with the same MO at the same address at the same time.
Two reports from Denver, one by Sam Cowhick and one by Mike Klis, citing sources close to Talib have said the cornerback accidentally shot himself. The DPD report still cites an unknown suspect.
WFAA’s Rebecca Lopez reported earlier Monday that Dallas Police are still investigating Talib as being involved in the V Live shooting. The report from DPD would certainly seem to confirm that.
However, DPD issued two versions of the offense record. Both were available online as of 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. The initial version of the report was issued at Medical City Hospital, cited the incident as occurring at 3:40 a.m. and listed the MO as “AGGRAVATED ASSAULT PRELIM INVESTIGATION.” The updated report ties Talib to the shootings at V Live.
