The Denver Broncos will open up the 2026 NFL season against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday Night Football, which opens them up for an opportunity to gain an early divisional advantage.

They’ll also play Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills in an AFC Divisional Playoff rematch on Christmas Day in Week 16, which could have huge implications potentially in the AFC Playoff picture.

Broncos schedule will prove Super Bowl contender status

To open up the season, the Broncos will have five road games out of their first nine matchups. Before the bye week in Week 10, Denver will already have had two matchups against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Three primetime games to start the season will give the world a glimpse at the 2026 Broncos with Monday Night Football against KC, Sunday Night Football against Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams in Week 3, and a Thursday Night Football showdown in Denver against Sam Darnold and the Seattle Seahawks in Week 6.

Five of Denver’s first nine games will be against NFC opponents in non-conference play. Coming out of the BYE, they’ll have eight straight AFC conference matchups, including a tough end-of-year stretch that features the Bills on Christmas, the New England Patriots in Week 17 on the road, and a home finale against the Los Angeles Chargers.

The first stretch of the season will be Denver’s biggest challenge, while the second half stretch will arguably be their most defining stretch of the year because every game has playoff implications due to the last eight games being conference matchups.

Most places have the Broncos’ win total at 9.5 in terms of over/under. I’ll take the over, and my prediction is that they’ll win 12 games.
