It’s hard to win 11 games in a row in the NFL, and the Denver Broncos did that. They’ve been battle-tested throughout various points of the season and have answered the call.

Sunday was a disappointing outcome considering the stakes and magnitude of the game, but this Broncos team has a level of confidence and character that they believe will help them respond.

Denver Broncos eager to bounce back after Sunday’s game

After the Denver Broncos lost on Sunday to the Jacksonville Jaguars, players in the locker room echoed their disappointment in how they performed, but also expressed that the makeup and character inside the locker room are big reasons they’ll respond on Thursday against the Kansas City Chiefs.

“I think that’s the best part,” Alex Singleton said after the game. “It’s going to happen. This is the NFL. Like I said, when you control what you can control now… There’s nothing better than a short week to flush stuff and go play another game. Let’s get it out of our system, and like I said, go win two football games. People can say whatever they want.”

After Denver’s 1-2 start earlier in the year, it’s taken until Sunday for them to drop a game. They flushed two hard losses then, they’ll find a way to flush Sunday’s loss now.

“We’ve been able to week-by-week get on to the next opponent, and that same thing has to exist obviously coming off a loss,” Payton said. “This is a confident team. And I would say this, there wasn’t a guy in the locker room yesterday—I don’t know, you guys probably spent more time with them—that felt like we didn’t get beat. This wasn’t an officiating… We got beat, and Jacksonville was the better team yesterday. I think our players know that.”

The Chiefs are banged up, and so are the Broncos, but Denver controls their own fate. It’s simple. Win the next two games, and they take home the AFC West division crown and the top seed in the AFC playoffs.
