Just one day after roster cuts took place to get the roster from 90 to 53, the Broncos have now assembled their initial practice squad after several players cleared waivers.
Denver Broncos announce initial 17-man practice squad
Typically, the NFL only has 16-man practice squads, unless you have a player who has the International Player Pathway designation, which allows a player with that designation to not count against your practice squad.
The Broncos have that with outside linebacker David Agoha, who spent time this offseason with the Tennessee Titans before they waived him. Denver also worked him out several weeks ago. He will be the 17th player on the practice squad.
The Miami Dolphins claimed cornerback Reese Taylor and tight end Justin Joly, the Broncos’ fifth-round draft pick from this year’s NFL Draft, losing both players. Denver did not claim anybody on waivers from other teams.
