After the Denver Broncos finalized their 53-man roster earlier this week, several players on the practice squad and the active roster changed their jersey numbers, with more changes still potentially coming.

Denver Broncos announce several jersey changes for 2024

When the Denver Broncos had their 90-man training camp roster in place, a lot of young players and some veterans didn’t have much choice in the jersey numbers they were assigned. Now that the roster is initially set, the team announced several number changes for this upcoming season.

Wide receiver David Sills V, who wore 87 last season and in the preseason, is making the switch to 13, which former practice squad receiver Phillip Dorsett previously wore.

Rookie running back Audric Estime, who wore 37 in the preseason, is switching to 23, which was worn in training camp by Andre Smith Jr, who isn’t on the roster.

Undrafted rookie running back Blake Watson is making the switch from 43 and will wear 25 this season, which was previously worn by former veteran running back Samaje Perine, who just signed with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Running back Tyler Badie is making the switch from 36 to 28, which was previously worn by former undrafted rookie free agent cornerback Art Green, who decided to sign elsewhere after being waived by the team on Tuesday.

The team stated that numbers are always subject to change, and there will likely be some more changes as the team welcomes former Los Angeles Chargers tight end Donald Parham Jr. to the practice squad.

Some other notable jersey changes from earlier in this offseason saw second-year cornerback Riley Moss switch from 37 to 21, quarterback Jarrett Stidham switch from 4 to 8, and outside linebacker Baron Browning switch from 56 to 5.

As more roster moves happen in the next week, more potential changes could take place prior to Denver’s Week 1 game against the Seattle Seahawks.
