The Denver Broncos wrapped up their final practice of the week on Friday as they get ready for Sunday’s massive AFC showdown with the Indianapolis Colts. They’ll be without one of their top cornerbacks, which will amplify the challenge facing Denver’s defense against the Colts dynamic trio of wide receivers.

Denver Broncos rule out cornerback Riley Moss for Sunday’s game

As the Denver Broncos head into Sunday’s game against the Colts, cornerback Riley Moss will not be available for them as the MCL injury in his knee will hold him out for the second consecutive game. Moss injured his knee in the first half of the Broncos win against the Las Vegas Raiders a few weeks ago.

He went on to miss the Broncos Monday Night Football matchup against the Cleveland Browns, and now he’ll miss Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts.

If there’s anything promising or presenting a glimmer of hope, Moss was in a helmet and jogged during the Broncos team stretch period all three days of the media viewing portion of practice. After team stretch, he went straight to the side field, which is a promising sign. While he’s been ruled out of Sunday’s game, there is a possibility he can return on Thursday Night Football this week against the Los Angeles Chargers, but that will be something to monitor considering the fact the Broncos will likely only have one open practice to the media next week.

Safety Brandon Jones was upgraded to being a full participant on Friday after he was limited on Wednesday with an abdomen (groin) injury that he sustained in the Broncos’ win against the Browns two weeks ago. This will be something to monitor throughout Sunday’s game against the Colts due to the nature of it being a soft-tissue injury.

Devon Key will be the player who steps in at safety in the event Jones experiences a setback.

The Denver Broncos and Indianapolis Colts will kick things off on Sunday at 2:25 p.m. MT.
