Injuries have been unkind to the Denver Broncos and a handful of other teams around the NFL this season just three weeks in. As the team prepares for Sunday’s road game against Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets, they only had three total players on the injury report.
Denver Broncos Wednesday Injury Report
From a practice standpoint, the Denver Broncos injury report on Wednesday was relatively clean in terms of the volume of players listed. The big blow on the injury side came from Sean Payton’s announcement earlier today that inside linebacker Alex Singleton suffered a torn ACL in Denver’s 27-6 win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 3.
Singleton played the entire game with it torn. After the game he felt soreness and had it checked out by the training staff, which ultimately led to it being revealed that his ACL was torn. He’ll have surgery in the next two weeks and begin the recovery process that will hopefully allow him to return for training camp next season.
As the Broncos practiced in West Virginia earlier this afternoon, they only had three players on the injury report.
Wide receiver Josh Reynolds was limited as he continues to go through a maintenance program — dealing with soreness with his Achilles. He was a limited participant last week but fully participated on Friday and played in Sunday’s game against Tampa Bay, hauling in two catches for 36 yards.
Fullback/Tight end Nate Adkins was limited on Wednesday with a shoulder injury. He caught a pass from Bo Nix in Sunday’s game against Tampa Bay and 25 offensive snaps (37%) and 14 snaps (64%) on special teams.
The only played who did not participate in practice on Wednesday was safety JL Skinner. Skinner suffered an ankle injury in the Broncos Week 2 loss against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He did not participate in practice at all last week and missed Sunday’s game against the Buccaneers.
Last week, rookie wide receiver Devaughn Vele was on the report with a rib injury but did not appear on the list today, which means he’s fully ready to go.
Broncos injury report:
- Safety JL Skinner – ankle – did not participate.
- Wide receiver Josh Reynolds – Achilles – limited participation.
- Tight end Nate Adkins – shoulder – limited participation.
The Denver Broncos will be back on the practice field once again on Thursday as they prepare for Sunday’s game against the Jets.
