The Denver Broncos wrapped up their second day of practice on Thursday and were without rookie wide receiver Pat Bryant again. With his status trending towards being unavailable on Sunday, how might the Broncos prepare for that?

Denver Broncos WR Pat Bryant misses Thursday’s practice with hamstring

Hamstrings are tricky, but the Denver Broncos appear to be playing it smart with rookie wide receiver Pat Bryant. After suffering a hamstring injury during practice last Thursday, Bryant participated on Friday ahead of their matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders, and ultimately, he played and caught all four targets from Bo Nix.

He missed Wednesday’s practice and did not participate again in Thursday’s practice, which leaves him one remaining practice to upgrade his participation status. If he misses Friday, he’ll likely not play on Sunday.

After talking about getting Marvin Mims more touches this past week during his conference call, it’s the perfect opportunity for head coach Sean Payton to work in the dynamic returner and receiver into the mix more. Courtland Sutton, Troy Franklin, and Lil’Jordan Humphrey would likely be the top three names to see the most workload at receiver if Bryant can’t go, but it’s another opportunity for Payton to continue to work with practice-squad receivers A.T. Perry and newcomer Elijah Moore in practice.

If Bryant misses, one of those players could be given a gameday elevation on Saturday.

Defensive lineman D.J. Jones (ankle) was on the field for the second consecutive practice day, as was tight end Nate Adkins (knee), and left guard Ben Powers (bicep).

The Broncos will take the field on Friday for their final practice of the week ahead of Sunday’s showdown against Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers.
