The Denver Broncos took the field on Tuesday for their only practice that was open to the media, and their injury report was the same as their estimated one from Monday.
Denver Broncos linebacker room boosted with return of Justin Strnad
Before the week, the Broncos’ outlook at linebacker was looking thin after the injury to Dre Greenlaw in Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. But have no fear, Justin Strnad is making his way back.
Strnad, who has started seven games this season, is likely stepping back into the starting lineup next to Alex Singleton after being a full participant in practice on Tuesday.
Ben Powers, Karene Reid, and Riley Moss all joined Strnad as full participants.
Powers continues to work his way back after returning on Sunday and getting some game reps following a long stint on IR following biceps surgery in Week 6. He and Alex Palczewski will continue to split reps vs. the Chiefs.
“It was good to have him back out there,” Payton said. “I thought we got the right amount of playing time. We’ll continue to work both of those guys. It’s good to have him back and on the sideline.”
Greenlaw, tight end Nate Adkins, center Luke Wattenberg, and wide receiver Pat Bryant were not participants and were not spotted on the field, and are trending towards not playing on Thursday Night against the Kansas City Chiefs.
If Wattenberg is unable to go, it’s likely expected for Alex Forsyth to start in his place, with veteran Calvin Throckmorton being a likely backup behind him.
