The Denver Broncos will kick off their season in just under 90 minutes on the road against the Seattle Seahawks. Prior to kickoff, the team announced their list of players who will be listed as inactive for today’s game. Kickoff is slated for 2:05 p.m. MT.
Denver Broncos list of inactive players vs. Seattle Seahawks
The group of players who will be inactive for today’s game against the Seahawks are listed as follows.
- Quarterback Zach Wilson
- Offensive tackle Frank Crum
- Wide receiver Troy Franklin
- Running back Blake Watson
- Defensive lineman Eyioma Uwazurike
- Cornerback Kris Abrams-Draine
- Tight end Lucas Krull
Wilson is listed as the team’s emergency quarterback for Week 1, despite him being listed as inactive. Rookies Crum, Franklin, and Watson aren’t a big surprise here for Week 1 considering the depth ahead of them. Abrams-Draine being listed as inactive is a little bit of a surprise considering the jump we saw him make defensively in training camp and the preseason, plus what he’s done on special teams.
Perhaps the biggest surprise on the inactive list is Krull, who was anticipated to have a bigger role this season. This means the team will roll with Adam Trautman, Greg Dulcich, and Nate Adkins as their three tight end options today against the Seahawks.
Denver didn’t have a single player listed on their injury report this week, which hasn’t happened with this team in quite some time. All of the inactive players are healthy scratches.
In addition to the team’s list of inactive players, the Broncos and head coach Sean Payton also elevated fullback Michael Burton and wide receiver Lil’Jordan Humphrey from the practice squad as a standard gameday elevation. Both players are expected to contribute on offense and on special teams frequently this afternoon.
Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett (thigh) was questionable coming into Sunday’s game but is active and will play.
Kickoff is coming up here in just under 90 minutes.
