Dre Greenlaw is back, and the Denver Broncos have 21 days to bring him to the active roster officially, but the hope is that it takes place this weekend for Denver’s Week 7 matchup against the New York Giants.

As the Broncos took the practice field on Wednesday for the first time since returning home from their Week 6 win against the New York Jets in London, Dre Greenlaw was back on the field and participating.

Greenlaw’s presence on the field means that the Broncos have officially activated his 21-day window, which means they have 21 days to move him from injured reserve to the active roster or else he would revert to IR for the remainder of the year.

With him back on the field at practice and moving well, the hope for this team is that he’ll make his debut on Sunday against the Giants, on a week where the Broncos will induct the late-great Demaryius Thomas into their Ring of Fame and honor the Super Bowl 50 team.

There is no rush for them to bring Greenlaw back this week specifically, but him being back on the field is a great sign after he’s taken the last four weeks to go through an extensive rehab and treatment plan with Beau Lowery with his quad injury that’s been impacting him since April.

The goal is for there to be no setbacks, so expect Denver’s approach to be smart with him, but this is a great step in the right direction.
