The Denver Broncos will report for the team’s offseason program beginning on May 4, just a week and a half away. After undergoing surgery in January following the fracture he sustained in Denver’s playoff win, he had a re-check recently ahead of the offseason program.
Denver Broncos QB Bo Nix recently met with surgeon for standard re-check on ankle
As the final day of the NFL Draft has dragged on, it was revealed that Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix recently met with his surgeon, Dr. Norman Waldrop, for a planned and standard re-check on his ankle, according to sources. First by Benjamin Allbright.
Nix was initially scheduled to be a guest coach today for the University of Oregon’s spring game, where he, his brother Tez Johnson, Kayvon Thibodeaux, and Deommodore Lenoir were set to be the coaches today in the Fighting Ducks vs. Combat Ducks matchup.
Detroit Lions offensive tackle Penei Sewell replaced Nix on Friday, but his absence was not related to the recent re-check of his ankle, from what I was told.
Nix has been in the building all offseason, rehabbing and training. When we caught up with Broncos Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning earlier this week at his Night of Champions event, he mentioned that he had seen Nix recently at the Masters and that Nix was moving well.
There’s nothing to worry about in this situation as George Paton, Sean Payton, and CEO Greg Penner have all said that Nix will be fully cleared by the start of the offseason program.
With it approaching in nine days, the Broncos will be smart with Nix in the weight room and on the field when the team is expected to begin football-related activities in June.
We’re set to hear from Broncos head coach Sean Payton and general manager George Paton following the conclusion of the seventh round of the NFL Draft, and we’ll update this story if there’s anything more to report.
