The Denver Broncos left for London after Sunday’s win against the Philadelphia Eagles, but two players did not make the trip with them.

Denver Broncos head to London without Stidham, Powers

Quarterback Jarrett Stidham and left guard Ben Powers are both headed back to Denver for different reasons. Stidham and his wife are expecting a child any day now, and Sean Payton wants him to be there for it. There’s a chance Stidham catches a flight later in the week to London.

Powers, on the other hand, is heading back to Denver, where he’ll undergo testing on a bicep injury suffered during Sunday’s win. Depending on testing, Powers making a trip to London later on in the week might not be in the cards, which would be a big blow to the Broncos offensive line.

After a rough preseason, Powers has been one of the Broncos’ best offensive linemen early on in the season. If he misses Sunday’s game against the New York Jets, Alex Palczewski, Alex Forsyth, or Matt Peart are the prime candidates who would likely step into his role if he can’t play.

Because the Broncos are traveling to London this evening, they were required to send an update out. We’ll monitor the news throughout the week on Powers’ injury.

On Sunday, the Broncos also made a roster move, adding free agent wide receiver Samori Toure to their practice squad, as first reported by ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, after Garret Wallow was promoted to the active roster over the weekend after Lucas Krull landed on injured reserve.
