The Denver Broncos have made their Saturday roster moves ahead of Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens. Which two players were elevated from the practice squad to the gameday roster?

Denver Broncos re-sign fullback Michael Burton, elevate him and Kwon Alexander vs. Ravens

The Denver Broncos have officially re-signed fullback Michael Burton, adding him to the practice squad. Burton was initially released as a procedural move so that the Broncos could sign veteran offensive lineman Calvin Throckmorton to the active roster for depth purposes. Throckmorton will back up center Alex Forsyth on Sunday.

With Burton on the practice squad, the team also elevated him to the gameday roster for Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens. This will be his second practice squad elevation since Week 1. He has one more elevation to go before the team will have to sign him to the active roster full-time, which is expected to happen at some point.

It’s just a roster gymnastics type of approach as Denver begins to figure out their active roster picture with several players set to return from injured reserve, including Luke Wattenberg and Delarrin Turner-Yell.

Inside linebacker Kwon Alexander is the other player who the team elevated from the practice squad to their gameday roster. Alexander has done a tremendous job over the course of the last two weeks, where he’s been elevated for three straight weeks. This is Alexander’s final practice squad elevation for the season, and if the team plans on using him in the future, he’ll have to be signed to the active roster, which is the plan in the next week or two.

He’ll likely see a lot of action in Sunday’s game as the Broncos defense aims to minimize the run game element from Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry, and he, Justin Strnad, and Cody Barton will be the team’s top three inside backers for the matchup.

Kickoff is slated for 11:00 a.m. MT on CBS, where the Denver Broncos aim to get their sixth win of the season and improve their overall conference record to 3-2.
