The Denver Broncos (4-3) will kick off today’s action against the Carolina Panthers (1-6) in the next 90 minutes and will have several players on their inactive list. Who is in and who is out for Week 8?
Denver Broncos Week 8 inactives vs. Carolina Panthers
The Denver Broncos will be without starting safety P.J. Locke this afternoon against the Carolina Panthers. Locke injured his thumb on Wednesday during practice and missed Thursday and Friday’s practices. Coming into Sunday, he was listed as doubtful but will officially miss today’s game against Carolina.
Safety Devon Key will get the start in his place. We’ll see if a timeline presents itself on when Locke may return.
Joining Locke on the inactive list is quarterback Zach Wilson, tight end Greg Dulcich, defensive lineman Eyioma Uwazurike, running back Blake Watson, offensive tackle Alex Palczewski, and cornerback Kris Abrams-Draine.
Wilson will serve as the team’s emergency quarterback, while Dulcich continues to be inactive with the emergence of Lucas Krull over the course of the last few weeks. Tillman, Abrams-Draine, and Uwazurike have been on the inactive list for the majority of the season, and that trend will continue this afternoon. Palczewski is inactive once again as he continues to come back from a high ankle sprain suffered a few weeks ago. He was a limited participant in practice all week, but Mike McGlinchey’s return last week has given that position group some breathing room.

On Saturday, the Broncos announced that offensive lineman Calvin Throckmorton and linebacker Kwon Alexander will be their two practice squad to gameday elevations on Sunday. Throckmorton will play a backup role option for starting center Alex Forsyth.
Alexander will likely rotate in today for the Broncos defensively, similar to how he did last Thursday in the team’s lopsided road win against the New Orleans Saints.
