The Denver Broncos had a busy weekend, as Sean Payton, George Paton, the coaching staff, and the scouting department all collectively met to figure out what their initial 53-man roster would be, trimming it down from 90 players.

The cutdown from 90 players to 53 took two days, with the Broncos beginning their first wave of releases on Saturday. Now, they are at 53 total players.
The Broncos did, in fact, go with three quarterbacks on the active roster. Earlier on Sunday, outside linebacker Jonathon Cooper was placed on the Commissioner’s Exempt list, which created a free roster spot.
