The Denver Broncos should re-sign Von Miller.

He’s one of the greatest players in team history, and he has a winning pedigree.

This young team is hungry and determined to win, but they have only one Super Bowl winner currently and adding another will only help.

Denver Broncos should re-sign Von Miller

Von Miller wants to play for the Broncos again.

And Denver should oblige him.

Recently, Miller’s been posting on socials about wanting to rejoin the Denver Broncos.

Why did he choose Champ Bailey’s No. 24 for this post on Instagram? Well, he was 24 last year with the Washington Commanders, so it likely made sense to keep that number. Although, there is no one currently on the Broncos wearing No. 58.

And this isn’t the first time Miller’s been begging the Broncos to bring him back.

In January on his podcast, Miller talked extensively about wanting to be a mentor to Nik Bonitto and be an influential presence on the team.

“Y’all make room for me over there with the Denver Broncos,” Miller said. “I would love to be in that linebacker room and give Nik Bonitto all the knowledge that I got, everything that I got, for him to be the best version of himself. … I would love to be a Denver Bronco next season and be in that linebacker room with him, and Jonathon Cooper, and contribute in any that I can to improve those guys.”

“Any of the knowledge that I have, I will give to you,” he continued. “The same way DeMarcus [Ware] did for me, Elvis Dumervil did for me, Shaun Phillips did for me. I would love to do that for those young guys with the Denver Broncos.”

His offering of advice doesn’t come out of nowhere, either.

Miller held his Pass Rush Summit from 2017-2024, annually bringing together the best defensive linemen and edge rushers in the NFL to share ideas, strategies, and ways to attack opposing offensive linemen.

But what would current players think?

“Obviously, everybody would love that,” edge rusher Nik Bonitto told reporters Wednesday from a charity event. “Not only the fans but the players. He’s a guy that’s loved here in Denver so much. My personal favorite player ever to watch. Just being able to share a room with him would be amazing.”

Miller as a player-coach

Unofficially, Von Miller could come back to the Denver Broncos as a player-coach.

Considering the Broncos are stacked on the edge, he would be a depth backup kind of player. All while mentoring, teaching, and coaching up his teammates on the field and on the sidelines during games.

The starting edges for Denver are Bonitto and Jonathon Cooper, with Jonah Elliss starting to make some noise as he goes into his third year. And there’s also Dondrea Tilllman, as well as Que Robinson on the depth chart.

That outside linebacker position is one of Denver’s deepest. But they can still find room for one of the greatest players in Broncos history, right?

He may be entering his 15th year—which is crazy to think about—but Miller enjoyed a bounce back season in Washington last year. He played in all 17 games, starting 3, and racked up 9.0 sacks. That was the most he’s had since 2021, when he split time with the Broncos and LA Rams.

Miller was healthy and wreaking havoc on opposing quarterbacks last year. He could do it again, all while mentoring the young and upcoming Broncos.

Not only does he have that wealth of knowledge as arguably the best pass rusher of his generation, but Von Miller was the Super Bowl 50 MVP.

Only Talanoa Hufanga has Super Bowl experience on the Broncos, and he lost while with the 49ers.

There’s no doubt Denver has its eyes on the prize—another Super Bowl—and Miller could help them reach that mountain top.

Of course, it would only work if he’s willing to play for a small contract. He did last year, with a $6M cap number after prorated bonuses kicked in. Considering Denver’s salary cap situation, they could sign him for around $6M but would like it to be less, probably.

If the price is right, the Denver Broncos should re-sign Von Miller.

Let him chase another ring while educating the young bucks. It’s a win-win situation.
