Sunday didn’t go the way the Denver Broncos planned, but despite the results, they still find themselves sitting atop the AFC with two weeks remaining.
Denver Broncos still atop AFC despite Sunday’s loss
There’s no time for pity parties in the NFL, and the Denver Broncos aren’t feeling sorry for themselves after dropping Sunday’s game to the Jacksonville Jaguars in disappointing fashion at home.
Even though the Broncos lost, they still have the top seed right now in the AFC.
1.) Denver Broncos – 12-3
Sunday’s loss was hopefully an eye-opener for the Broncos, who have struggled defensively as of late. They couldn’t get stops in the red zone, and they couldn’t get off the field on third down. These trends will have to change. For Denver, the goal is simple: win two games, and you win the AFC West and get the top seed.

2.) New England Patriots – 12-3
Even if the Broncos and Patriots end the year with the same record, Denver holds the tiebreaker over New England based on them going 6-0 against common opponents.
Beat the Baltimore Ravens 28-24
3.) Jacksonville Jaguars – 11-4
The Jaguars have now won seven of their last eight games, including Sunday’s impressive road win against Denver. The Broncos can’t afford to drop a game the rest of the way because Jacksonville would hold the head to head tiebreaker over them.

4.) Pittsburgh Steelers – 9-6
The AFC North is… something. By default of being the top team in a bad division, the Steelers are 9-6 and are coming off an impressive road win against the Detroit Lions.

5.) Los Angeles Chargers – 11-4
The Chargers beat the Dallas Cowboys on the road on Sunday as Justin Herbert carried the load. They’ll now face the Houston Texans in Los Angeles in a very important game with AFC implications.
Beat Dallas Cowboys 34-17
6.) Buffalo Bills – 11-4
Buffalo is one of the weirdest teams in the NFL. One week, they can look unstoppable, the next, they look like they can barely squeak by. Despite that, they’re 11-4 and still have a shot at the 1 seed.
Beat Browns 23-20
7.) Houston Texans – 10-5
The Las Vegas Raiders gave the Texans a little scare on Sunday, but Houston prevailed.
