The Denver Broncos are set to kick off their Week 4 showdown against Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets in the next 90 minutes. Which players won’t be suiting up for today’s showdown in the Meadowlands?
Denver Broncos Week 4 inactives vs. New York Jets
The following players will not be active in today’s game against the New York Jets.
- Quarterback Zach Wilson
- Cornerback Kris Abrams-Draine
- Running back Blake Watson
- Safety JL Skinner
- Tight end Lucas Krull
- Defensive lineman Eyioma Uwazurike
- Wide receiver Devaughn Vele
Wilson continues to serve as the Broncos’ emergency quarterback as the third option behind Jarrett Stidham, and starter Bo Nix. Abrams-Draine continues to be on the inactive list as his redshirt season continues to occur with the Broncos cornerback depth fully healthy and playing at a high level through three weeks of play.
Watson continues to remain a gameday inactive and won’t likely see many touches this season unless an injury or two occurs at the position. With the latest emergence of Tyler Badie, who was promoted to the team’s 53-man roster this week after Alex Singleton’s season-ending injury, it make’s Watson’s path more difficult toward being active.
Skinner will miss his second consecutive game with an ankle injury that’s been impacting him since he suffered it in the Broncos Week 2 loss against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He hasn’t practiced since the injury and was ruled out on Friday. Krull also continues to remain inactive as Nate Adkins, Adam Trautman, and Greg Dulcich see a majority of the reps at the tight end position through three weeks.
Uwazurike is continuing to get acclimated as the defensive line is playing at a high level ahead of him, with John Franklin-Myers, D.J. Jones, Malcolm Roach, Jordan Jackson, and Zach Allen seeing a bulk of the reps across the board.
Vele is a healthy scratch after missing the last two weeks with a rib injury. With Troy Franklin getting more involved in the offense, it seems the coaching staff is going to see what they can continue to do with him for now.
