Toupane came to the Nuggets originally on March 3 when the team signed him to a 10-day contract. Following the completion of his first 10-day contract, he was awarded a second 10-day contract for his efforts.
Now, Toupane is locked up for the rest of this year and possibly beyond. The second year of the deal is non-guaranteed, meaning Toupane will have to fight to make the team come next season.
Toupane is a hard worker that has made a solid adjustment to the NBA; in addition to this, he is a locker room favorite.
Axel is a solid defender that excels when running the floor. He is averaging 3.0 points and 1.3 rebounds with the Nuggets thus far, playing an average of 13.8 minutes per game.
Toupane does not have a solidified role with the team as of today; he will need to show what he can provide this team in order to stay with them come seasons end.
If Toupane can figure out a role on this team and excel at it, he could be an important cog moving forward
