After months of waiting to raise the banner, the Denver Nuggets finally did it on Tuesday night in front of the home crowd.
In the newest episode of the Pickaxe and Roll podcast, Ryan Blackburn reacts to the Denver Nuggets ring night ceremony and subsequent win over the Los Angeles Lakers. The day was an emotional one for many as the Nuggets received their rings and raised a championship banner for the first time in franchise history. There were tears and hugs and plenty of smiles and cheers from Nuggets faithful.
Ryan discusses the moment and also discusses the win. Nikola Jokić, Jamal Murray, and the Nuggets starters were dominant. Jokić racked up his first triple-double of the season. Aaron Gordon, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, and Michael Porter Jr. each contributed in various ways. The bench even found ways to impact the game, though this was mostly about the Nuggets starters overwhelming the Lakers.
LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and the Lakers had no answers for Jokić, though they kept the game close until the end. Ryan breaks down all of the events, the rotations, and the vibes from an awesome night at Ball Arena.
