Jeagun, a 14-year-old boy with a respiratory disorder, is a lifelong Nuggets fan. He idolizes the league’s MVP, Nikola Jokić, and aspires to play just like the legendary center. Jeagun wished to meet the Denver Nuggets and was able to witness their playoff-clinching game, thanks to Make-A-Wish Colorado and partners from around the community!
Jeagun and his family stayed at the Brown Palace Hotel in downtown Denver and traveled via limousine to Ball Arena to spend the morning with the team. Jeagun gasped when he stepped onto the legendary court, posing for photos with his family and taking it all in before warming up with some shooting drills.
Jeagun had a front row seat to the Nuggets warmup, watching in awe as his favorite players took shots and dribbled around right in front of his eyes. After practice, the team came by to say hi to Jeagun and he gave fist bumps to all the players.
The tour continued with a stop to check out the 2023 NBA Championship trophy! Jeagun also saw the locker room and weight room before heading back to the court.
“I got to shoot around a little bit and rebound for Aaron Gordon,” Jeagun said. “I shot right next to him like eight times.”
Jeagun didn’t disappoint in front of his idols, making all eight shots and even earning some praise from Gordon, who said “Dang you’re on fire!”
An incredible moment was when the Nuggets and coaches welcomed Jeagun into the huddle to break it down, joining him in shouting “3-2-1- GO NUGGETS!”
That night, Jeagun watched the game from a suite with his friends and family, wearing his new jersey, signed by the entire team. “If it is even possible, I’m more of a Nuggets fan now,” Jeagun grinned. “Priceless. I don’t think there’s anything better,” his mom said about the wish.
The Denver Nuggets are incredible partners of Make-A-Wish Colorado, and bring strength, joy and transformation to wish kids and their families with every wish they are a part of.
