Devontae Booker: “We have to go and win, plain and simple”

The Broncos are looking to move forward after a frustrating loss to their division rival Kansas City Chiefs, but there’s no time to dwell on the past.

“Stuff happens in the game of football,” Devontae Booker told Eric Goodman and Les Shapiro of Afternoon Drive on Mile High Sports AM 1340 | FM 104.7. “We let one get away from us that we should have had in the bag. We just have to regroup from it and be better next week.”

The Broncos were, in no way, outplayed by the Chiefs in their loss. The breaks, which so often fall in Denver’s favor, simply didn’t go their way.

Booker, though, feels they played the better game all around, especially in the second half.

“Yeah, I believe so,” Booker said. “In the second half we played a way better game than them. We were just supposed to close it out, unfortunately that didn’t happen.”

The big argument after the game on Sunday was the decision to go for the win, as opposed to the tie, with a 62-yard field goal. The players have sounded off with their support of the decision to go for the win, and Booker’s thoughts are no different.

“We all have faith in our kicker to kick the 62-yard field goal,” Booker said. “He missed it, but at the end of the day, we live with the decision. If we had to do it again, I’m pretty sure we’d have him do the same thing.”

Moving forward, the Broncos goal is simple: just win.

“We have to go and win, plain and simple,” Booker said. “We have to take one game at a time and execute on all cylinders and win the game.”
