Devontae Booker: “We just have to go out there and execute”

The Broncos are facing their toughest three-game stretch of the season, and it all starts with the Patriots (11-2) on Sunday.

Devontae Booker knows how important this game is, and if passing the ball isn’t working, the run game will need to execute.

“We will be out there passing the ball, and he (Bill Belichick) will be trying to stop us from passing,” Booker told Eric Goodman and Les Shapiro of Afternoon Drive on Mile High Sports AM 1340 | FM 104.7. “We will just have to beat him in the run. Run the ball hard and get positive gains.”

The run game hasn’t had much productivity this season, but they have to successfully execute the run game this week.

“The play calls that they call for us, we just have to go out there and execute them,” Booker said. “Once we execute them, then good things will happen.”

As a rookie, Booker is adapting to a 16-game NFL season, but he doesn’t believe he’ll be running out of gas any time soon.

“It’s not difficult to me,” Booker said. “I know this team needs me to play and I can’t get stuck on a wall. I just need to keep grinding and go on out there and play. Physically, I’m holding up. I’m here everyday getting extra work in the training room. Just to keep my body fresh.”

The amount of games in a season is new for Booker. Some call it, hitting the rookie wall. He is trying to do everything to stay away from hitting it by getting extra treatments and being as prepared, mentally, as he can.

“I’m just trying to stay away from it [the rookie wall],” Booker said. “I don’t need to hit that wall at all.”
