One growing issue in all of sports is the diagnosis and treatment of concussions.
More and more athletes from across the sports spectrum have been diagnosed with chronic traumatic encephalopathy, commonly known as CTE, a degenerative brain injury directly related to concussions.
In an attempt to spread the word of the dangers of concussions, Colorado Avalnche captain Gabriel Landeskog took to Twitter on Thursday to share his concussion story through a YouTube video for the EMPWR Foundation, a foundation dedicated to creating an advancement in concussion recovery.
The National Hockey League, like the National Football league, has seen concussions draw increasingly more attention drawn to the violence of their sport in recent years.
With big name player’s like Landeskog sharing his story, it will hopefully teach children to make sure they’re fully healthy before returning from a concussion.
