WATCH: Gary Kubiak doesn’t want to talk about Aqib Talib until he talks to Aqib Talib

Denver Broncos

Head coach Gary Kubiak and his team didn’t take time to rest after their whirlwind trip to Washington D.C. on Monday. After celebrating their Super Bowl 50 victory with the President, the Broncos were back at work for the team’s mandatory minicamp on Tuesday, but the big thing everyone wanted to talk about Aqib Talib.

The three-time Pro Bowl cornerback is recovering from a weekend shooting that kept him hospitalized from early Sunday morning into Monday (and missing the D.C. trip). The very complicated situation will keep Talib out for the remainder of OTAs and with a questionable legal future moving forward.

Another marquee player was noticeably absent from the proceedings – Super Bowl 50 MVP, linebacker Von Miller.

Miller is holding out of offseason activities as he tries to negotiate a longterm deal with the Broncos. He currently has a franchise tender offer on the table that he has not signed while a larger deal is in the works.

Following Tuesday’s minicamp practice, Kubiak met with the media and offered some words on both situations.

Kubiak expects Talib back in Denver possibly Tuesday evening…

A noticeably perturbed Kubiak said he wants to meet with Talib face-to-face before commenting further…

On a more positive note, Kubiak believes things are moving in the right direction on Miller’s contract negotiations…
