The Denver Nuggets broke a four-game losing streak with a convincing 120-104 win over the Phoenix Suns in Denver Wednesday night. The win was Denver’s first at Pepsi Center on the season.
Wilson Chandler scored a team-high 28 off the bench and Kenneth Faried logged a double-double with 20 points and 15 rebounds; both were season highs for Faried. It was the second consecutive double-double for Faried and his third of the year.
Denver led by 18 at the half, but Phoenix cut the lead to single digits in the fourth quarter. The Nuggets have struggled to close out games, but a key turnover helped slow the Suns’ momentum and Denver would pull away late.
Alonzo Gee, signed Wednesday after Denver waived Jarnell Stokes, played four minutes off the bench and did not score. Gee played in 39 games for the Nuggets during the 2014-15 campaign, averaging 4.9 points and 1.8 rebounds in 13.1 minutes.
Denver continues their four-game homestand on Friday against Toronto.
