The freefall continues for Michael Malone’s Denver Nuggets as they dropped their seventh game in nine outings, 92-85 to the Washington Wizards. Denver controlled the game until the midway point of the third quarter, but their season-high 29 turnovers were too much to overcome in the loss.
With 26 points, Bradley Beal led all scorers; only three Wizards scored in double-digits, but Washington was 16-for-17 from the free throw line. Denver, meanwhile, shot just 16-of-24 from the charity stripe and 7-for-32 from 3-point range.
For as bad as Denver’s shooting was, they were worse with ball control. Every Nugget who touched the ball on Thursday night had at least one turnover; five of the nine players who logged meaningful minutes had four or more.
Denver continues a six-game road trip on Saturday in Orlando. Denver is 8-15 on the season, 5-8 on the road.
