The NBA Draft Lottery probably isn’t rigged, but it felt like it was last night.

The Dallas Mavericks, just three months after trading Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers in one of the most lopsided trades in NBA history, won the lottery last night. Duke star Cooper Flagg is set to be a Maverick now, or perhaps Nico Harrison will trade him to the Lakers for Austin Reaves when the time comes.

What was even crazier was the San Antonio Spurs jumping up to second overall and the Philadelphia 76ers keeping their draft pick. The Charlotte Hornets, Utah Jazz, Washington Wizards, New Orleans Pelican, Brooklyn Nets, and Toronto Raptors? Well, they all slid out of the way while two Texas teams added draft capital for the impending Giannis Antetokounmpo trade sweepstakes this summer.

Alright, sure.

On the latest episode of Pickaxe and Roll, Ryan Blackburn breaks down what happened in the NBA Draft Lottery last night and how it looks the most fishy at ever has with the Dallas Mavericks winning the first overall pick. Is the draft lottery rigged? Probably not, but it felt like it last night.

Ryan breaks down the Mavericks winning the Cooper Flagg sweepstakes, the Jayson Tatum injury, and previews Game 5 of Denver Nuggets vs Oklahoma City Thunder.
