The Denver Nuggets won’t have any representation in the All-star game, but Jamal Murray will be there to participate in two events on the weekend. It has already been reported that Murray will participate in the Rising Stars Challenge — an event for which he won the MVP in 2017 — and now it’s been confirmed that he will participate in the 2018 Taco Bell Skills Competition.
TNT officially revealed the participants on their broadcast this evening and Murray was listed alongside Joel Embiid, Donovan Mitchell, Lou Williams, Kristaps Porzingis, Al Horford, Lauri Markkanen and Spencer Dinwiddie.
Barring any further injuries — an event that unfortunately cannot be ruled out given how the basketball Gods have behaved lately — Murray will be Denver’s lone representative at All-Star weekend.
The 20-year-old is averaging 26.8 points per 100 possessions in his sophomore campaign and he’s posted a shooting split of 45.0/37.4/93.1. Murray has played in 50 games this season and started in 49 of them as Denver has officially handed him the keys to the starting point guard role.
