The Broncos lost their eighth straight game in Miami last week, but there were bright spots — Justin Simmons‘ pick-six and Bradley Roby‘s outstanding all-around performance starting in the place of Aqib Talib, who was suspended for Sunday’s game.

Woods discussed Simmons’ efforts, praising the second-year safety. “He did a great job. We put a lot of pressure on him — we had a couple different packages ready to go, but our main package was to play him at the nickel position,” he said. “He was covering [Jarvis Landry], he was covering [Kenny Stills], all those guys, and he did a great job.”

Regarding Roby, who had four tackles, three passes defensed and forced a fumble from Stills that Roby recovered, Woods’ praise was ebullient. “That fumble recovery, he forced — that’s what we’ve been doing in practice, so it’s good to see him take it from the practice field to the game. He did some impressive things.”
