“Have you ever been to the Super Bowl?” John Elway asks two Denver Broncos season-ticket holders before the Broncos beat the Steelers on Sunday.
That game, with a 15.5 share, was the highest-rated game on CBS this year. But, as great as the game was — with Denver battling, forcing turnovers and overcoming the Steelers to keep their playoff hopes alive — what happened before was even more must-see TV.
The NFL is surprising fans all across the country with Super Bowl LIII tickets, and they got John Elway, Steve Atwater and Joe Ellis to give them to these two, long-time, season-ticket holders.
It’s a special moment:
Throughout the season, the @NFL is surprising deserving fans with a trip to #SBLIII.

At the end of the video, you can hear Ellis even saying the Broncos would pay for airfare and hotel for those two fans, who weren’t sure how they would make it out to the game.
That’s reminiscent of the way Pat Bowlen always pays for every, single employee of the Broncos to fly out to the Super Bowl, and he gets them all rings when the team wins, too.
“Hopefully we see ya there,” Elway said as he handed out the tickets.
Denver, who struggled mightily the last two seasons, finally found something special two weeks ago as they beat the Los Angeles Chargers on the road. Then, after this heartwarming exchange, Elway’s Broncos beat Pittsburgh, too; back-to-back wins against playoff-bound teams.
Those victories leave the Broncos in the hunt for the final wild card playoff spot, now with five games to play and four consecutive against sub-.500 teams.
Super Bowl LIII takes place on Sunday, Feb. 3 in Atlanta, GA.
