Bernier’s eight wins was a league high for the month and Bernier — starting on December 31st and running until January 22nd — never lost a game, winning nine-straight games. That run was the longest of his career and tied for the second-longest streak in Avalanche history, only two-wins shy of matching Patrick Roy‘s 11 straight wins in the 1998-1999 season.
The honor is Bernier’s first career NHL star of the month honor and represents the sixth time an Avalanche player has been named to the honor.
