It is unsure at this time how far the two sides have gotten in trade talks; however, contact has been made between the two parties.
Blake Griffin is a top-of-the-line player that would spice up the Nuggets roster as well as provide some help on the boards.
Denver is in need of a superstar-caliber player for marketing and performance purposes and Griffin may be that guy.
It would cost a pretty penny for the Nuggets to pull off a deal to bring the high-flying Griffin to the Mile High City, but both sides could get better if a trade were to be struck.
Trade proposals:
Clippers get: Danilo Gallinari, Kenneth Faried, and Will Barton
Nuggets get: Blake Griffin and Lance Stephenson
According to the ESPN trade machine the trade works!
Clippers get: Danilo Gallinari and Kenneth Faried
Nuggets get: Blake Griffin and JJ Redick
If the Nuggets did not want to trade all of those players they could opt to trade one of their many first round draft picks.
It is unclear if the two sides have seriously engaged in conversation about a trade; however, the possibility remains that a trade can be worked out between both sides.
The window is closing for the Clippers to trade Griffin, so the Nuggets could swoop in and take advantage of a lingering Clippers team.
Griffin is under contract until the 2017-18 season, though that final year is a player option.
