Following the passing of Pat Bowlen, Les Shapiro and Paul Klee, filling in for Eric Goodman, had former Broncos’ head coach Mike Shanahan on the show to discuss the former Broncos’ owner and his impact on the franchise.

Mike Shanahan spent the large majority of his 20 years as a head coach under Pat Bowlen in Denver. During that time, the Broncos went to and won two Super Bowls and made seven trips to the playoffs. But between the good years and the bad years, Shanahan said that Bowlen’s demeanor, for the most part, stayed the same.

“When I was with Pat, he was pretty consistent all the way through, as an assistant, as a coordinator, and as a head coach. That’s why I was such great friends with him. I really enjoyed being around him. We’d play a lot of golf, we’d have a lot of dinners, we’d have vacations, and I actually consider him one of my best friends because we did enjoy each others company and you could trust him.”
