The Denver Nuggets are hard at work preparing for the 2017-18 season, but if there’s one player on the Nuggets roster who can find a way to make training camp a fun event it’s Nikola Jokic.
Jokic is one of the NBA’s rising stars, catching the eye of both the media and his fellow players in a breakout sophomore season last year. Still, the fun-loving Serbian big man isn’t about to let his newfound cache in the league change a thing.
“That’s just media,” Jokic told Eric Goodman and Les Shapiro at the team’s media day on Monday when asked how he feels about being named to multiple top-25 player rankings this offseason.
The 22-year-old told Goodman and Shapiro that he’s feeling fit after a tough summer of training, and he had a laugh about head coach Michael Malone saying that he’s going to be Denver’s Magic Johnson this season.
