As the Denver Nuggets prepare for the first round of the playoffs, it’s important to figure out just how far they’re capable of progressing.
The Los Angeles Clippers might be the perfect opportunity for Denver to test themselves. The general public sees this as a very close series, one that the Clippers perhaps should be favored in. Denver has to be pretty serious in order to take take Los Angeles, and for a team that just fired their head coach and general manager, that appears doubly so.
If the Nuggets are going to make a deep playoff run, it might as well start with a team that will challenge them. The Clippers possess an elite defense. They have strong individual scoring and playmaking. They match up with Denver reasonably well.
It will take a connected Nuggets team to defeat the Clippers, but if they do find ways to connect, that will set them up well in any and all future playoff matchups this year.
